A heroic group of everyday people is looking to make history at the 5th annual Rock 102 Cardboard Cup.
These fine competitors — who likely blew off going to the Olympics for a shot at the cup — will put their sled-making skills to the test Saturday.
They’re only allowed to use cardboard, tape, string and glue — plus decorative paint — to make the most inspiring, long-lasting design to race down Optimist Hill at Diefenbaker Park.
Registration for the Rock 102 Cardboard Cup powered by Elite Property Management starts at 12:30 p.m.
A Show and Shine of all the creations — including judging for Most Creative — takes place at 1 p.m., with races kicking off at 2 p.m.
Contestants and fans can enjoy complimentary Tim Horton’s hot chocolate and cookies.
Everyone is welcome at the after party held at Sports on Tap.
Rock 102 will broadcast onsite and award the following prizes:
- 1st Place – Trophy + Ski Trip for 4 to Marmot Basin in Jasper and UFCW 248P & UFCW 649
