She bilked hundreds of people out of their vacation money, now a disgraced travel agent is taking a trip to prison.
Leslie Glauser was the operator of T&T Travel Ltd. in Kindersley when she abruptly closed the business in late January 2016 as complaints began piling up with RCMP.
RCMP eventually got over 250 complaints from people saying Glauser defrauded them of deposits and fees paid for vacations that never got booked.
Police charged Glauser in May 2017 after months of investigation.
Police said the total amount Glauser took was in excess of $1 million.
Glauser’s victims ranged from students planning to spend their spring break in Mexico, to a destination wedding party that gave her over $40,000 before learning their flights to the Dominican Republic hand’t been booked.
Glauser pleaded guilty in provincial court to one count of fraud over $5,000 covering all the complaints against her.
She was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison and ordered to pay back $200,000.
