As the Saskatchewan Rush worked their way to victory against the Vancouver Stealth over the weekend, a man in the stands was working up his courage.
Lucien Laberge proposed to his girlfriend Carrisa Agarand at Saturday’s game.
He brought her down to the field, leading her to believe they were going to play a word game for fans during an intermission.
The words revealed by Rush cheerleaders: “Will you marry me?”
“I contacted the Rush organization, and they were super helpful. And it just kind of escalated from there and snowballed ideas together,” Laberge said.
Somehow he managed to keep it a secret until just before the fourth quarter.
“I honestly couldn’t believe it. It was like a rush through my body,” Agarand said.
The couple walked away engaged after Agarand said yes.
