The Moose Jaw Warriors picked up their third win over the Saskatoon Blades this season in a 5-3 decision at SaskTel Centre on Sunday afternoon.
Blades head coach Dean Brockman said he was not impressed with his team’s start.
“We waited too long to get going today. You can’t wait until it’s 3-1 and then decide to play. That’s too late,” he said. “ Maybe we should try to play to win instead of playing to be mediocre.”
The Warriors jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the second period with goals from Brett Howden, Brecon Wood and Justin Almedia.
The Blades tied the game in the third period with goals from Josh Paterson, who had two on the day, and Eric Florchuk.
Moose Jaw responded right away as Brayden Burke notched the Warriors fourth of the game and eventual game-winning goal.
The Warriors added an empty netter.
The Blades travel to Regina on Wednesday to take on the Pats for the second time in three games.
