The Kootenay Ice cruised to a 7-2 win over the Blades in Cranbrook B.C. Sunday afternoon.
Brett Davis opened the scoring with the first of his two goals in the opening three-minutes. Alec Baer and Colton Kroeker also found the back of the net staking the Ice to a 4-0 first period lead.
Colton Veloso, Keenan Taphorn and Sam Hudson also scored for Kootenay who never trailed in the game.
Max Gerlach and Jake Kustra scored for Saskatoon, while Tyler Brown made 25 stops in his Blades’ debut since being traded to Saskatoon from Regina last Wednesday.
