The Medicine Hat Tigers pulled out a 3-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades on Wednesday night at SaskTel Centre. The Blades had just 10 forwards and 7 defenceman in the lineup because of the WHL trade deadline.
David Quenneville scored the winning goal in the third period for Medicine Hat. Gary Hayden and Bryan Lockner, who was traded from Saskatoon to Medicine Hat earlier in the day, scored for the Tigers.
Max Gerlach, who was traded to Saskatoon from Medicine Hat on Wednesday, assisted on Chase Wouters 11th goal of the season. Braylon Shmyr also scored for the Blades. Defenceman Dawson Davidson, who was also traded from Regina to Saskatoon earlier this week, was in the Blades line up.
The Blades, who currently sit in the final wildcard spot in the eastern conference, trail the Regina Pats by one point in the standings.
