Murray Wood: Of Easter bunny bells and Juicy Fruit gum
For Murray Wood, Easter brings to mind grandma's practical advice about repurposing, and some of life's little lessons.
Officers called to a disturbance on Boxing Day in Saskatoon didn’t leave a kid without their unique Christmas toy after it was damaged by a 16-year-old sibling.
After learning the family couldn’t replace it, a patrol constable went to several toy stores in the city to try to find a replacement.
The officer eventually wound up at Mastermind Toys at Preston Crossing.
When the manager heard what had happened, they immediately offered to replace the toy and donate gifts to the children — 11, five and two years old — who were at the home.
Police said the act of kindness helped make the holiday special for the family.
