Netflix subscribers are being warned about phony text and email messages being sent to subscribers.
The company sent out an alert to users of its streaming video service saying some Canadian subscribers were getting messages warning them about a payment issue, then directing them to a website where they were asked for their credit card information.
Netlfix warned that the fake website looks very similar to the authentic one, including images of Netflix programs like The Crown.
The company urged customers not to click on the link sent in the email or text message, and to report the message using the help section on the official Netflix site.
