Saskatoon police say photos taken during an altercation Monday afternoon led to charges against a 30-year-old man.
Police were called out to the 200 block of Avenue B North around 4 p.m. for a report of a man on a bike who allegedly used a knife to threaten two people in a vehicle.
Police said the people in the vehicle were driving along 22nd Street West, when the cyclist reportedly crossed in front of them near Avenue C North.
The man allegedly parked his bicycle a short distance away on Avenue B, then approached the vehicle waving a knife and threatening to harm the driver.
Officers arriving at the scene found neither the suspect, nor the vehicle.
It turned out the people in the vehicle had gone to police headquarters to file a report, including photos of the suspect taken on a cell phone during the incident.
Those photos helped patrol officers searching near the scene find the suspect on the 100 block of Wall Street, where he was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
