Riderville North will get a chance to show its true colours Friday.
Mayor Charlie Clark declared Friday as Green Day in Saskatoon in honour of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The team continues its playoff run Sunday in the Eastern Final against the Toronto Argonauts.
Speaking Thursday on the Brent Loucks Show, Clark encouraged fans to wear green on Friday, and said he’d be raiding his own closet in support of the Riders.
“I’ll find as much green as I can put together in my suit that I wear tomorrow,” he said.
The Roughriders are out to make history as the first team ever to win the Grey Cup after crossing over from the West to the East Division to make the playoffs.
They’ll go into Sunday’s contest with a bit of recent history on their side, having won both this year’s regular-season meetings with the Argos.
The CFL Eastern Final between the Roughriders and the Argonauts kicks off at noon Sunday in Toronto.
