Saskatoon police used a taser to defuse a domestic situation Saturday night.
Around 11:30 p.m. police were called to a home on Poplar Crescent in the Buena Vista neighbourhood about a man attempting to harm himself and his wife with a large kitchen knife.
Police said they were forced to hit the man with a taser when he began threatening officers with the knife.
The 68-year-old wasn’t injured from the taser, but was taken to hospital for a pre-existing health condition.
No charges have been laid in the incident.
The incident will be reviewed in accordance to police policy.
