Saskatchewan RCMP are looking for the man who allegedly stole a truck to get away from officers north of Maidstone Tuesday morning.
Members of the Maidstone and Battlefords RCMP detachments were called about a stolen F-150 truck being driven on Highway 16 at around 2:30 a.m.
The truck was reported stolen from the Humboldt area last Friday, and a firearm – described as a shotgun – was reported to be inside the vehicle at the time.
RCMP used a spike belt to stop the truck near the junction of Highway 21 and Highway 16.
A woman from the Battlefords was arrested at the scene, but a man reportedly managed to get away, get into Maidstone and steal a white 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck.
As of Tuesday afternoon, RCMP said the man has not been found and there are no descriptors available.
The white Chevrolet pickup truck was found on the outskirts of North Battleford later Tuesday morning.
The firearm has not been recovered.
No charges have been laid in relation to this ongoing investigation.
Maidstone is located off Highway 16 between North Battleford and Lloydminster.
