I’ve seen Connor McDavid play in person on more than one occasion, yet I don’t see him play on a regular basis like our friend Drew Remenda, who is an analyst for the Oilers.
Perhaps that’s why I am in awe of McDavid’s skill every time he steps on to the ice.
I was again amazed as I watched McDavid carry the puck against the Hurricanes at Sask-Tel Centre on Wednesday night. He is always a threat to score and makes it look so easy.
His head is always up as he flies down the ice, surveying, looking for his teams’ next scoring chance.
Fans and analysts, who follow the Oilers closely say McDavid can do things with puck on stick at a higher rate of speed than other players. That is an understatement.
Television does not give fans a true indication of how gifted this 20-year-old superstar is. And to think: this was only an exhibition game.
