The Saskatchewan Rush will play on new turf for the 2018 NLL season and that new turf has a name.
Co-op Field at SaskTel Centre was unveiled as part of a five-year partnership between the Rush and Co-op, the largest sponsor deal in team history.
“This brand new turf will help bring the Champions Cup back to the province of Saskatchewan,” Rush defender Ryan Dilks said.
The new turf replaces the more than 10-year-old carpet that followed the Rush from Edmonton in 2016.
“Our goal for year three is to take the team to higher levels and this begins with the announcement of Co-op Field at SaskTel Centre,” Owner Bruce Urban said.
The Rush also announced an early start to the 2018 pre-season. They will host the Georgia Swarm on Saturday, Nov. 18. The Swarm beat Saskatchewan in the 2017 NLL final.
