'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
A 29-year-old man has minor injuries after a shooting in Riversdale early Sunday morning.
Saskatoon Police were called to the 300 block of Avenue H South after two men got into a fight and one of them pulled out a small caliber gun and shot the other in the arm.
The 29-year-old was taken to hospital in stable condition, but the suspect was gone when officers arrived.
Soon after the shooting, a pick-up truck tried to get away from police on 8th Street.
The truck eventually got stuck in a field on the east end of Taylor Street and a man inside ran.
Pretty soon the canine unit caught up to him under a deck at a house nearby, and he suffered a dog bite.
Once he was in custody police discovered he was the suspect in the Riversdale shooting.
