A 70-year-old Saskatoon man has died after a boat capsized Monday on Lake Diefenbaker.
In a news release Tuesday, Outlook RCMP said two men were operating the boat when it tipped over near Danielson Provincial Park, south of Saskatoon, around 10:45 a.m. on Labour Day.
One man was able to swim to shore and get help from a nearby boater.
The second man was found dead in the water. His name will not be released.
This marks the fourth death on Lake Diefenbaker this year.
Ken Houben, 61, from Loreburn, was one of two men who died on July 20 when stormy conditions caused their boat to capsize. The second man who died in that incident was not identified publicly.
Ten days later, RCMP reported a man had gone missing while boating on the lake. That unidentified man’s body was recovered on Aug. 6, near where he was last seen.
