I like it when the Toronto Blue Jays do well, but at times it can be a difficult team to cheer for.
There is always lots of attitude. It doesn’t seem to matter whether it’s contending for a playoff spot, or seven games under .500 like they are in 2017.
Lots of Jays players have lots to say on the field.
In a game against the LA Angels on the weekend, umpire Angel Hernandez – who appears to be one of those umps who feels fans come to see him – got into an exchange with pitcher J.A. Happ.
However, catcher Russell Martin can be seen telling the umpire to “put his mask on” after a dispute between Hernandez and Happ over balls and strikes.
Last night, Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman had a verbal exchange with Chicago’s Tim Anderson. That again led to the tired old scene of the Jays dugout emptying.
This is a team with a high desire for confrontation, despite the low win total.
