Barricades surrounded the 600 block of Avenue G South Friday evening as Saskatoon police responded to a weapons call.
Starting around 6:45 p.m. people were asked to avoid the area and traffic was diverted while police cruisers and the armoured rescue vehicle filled the street outside of a home where a 31-year-old woman was inside with a gun.
Just before 8 p.m., she was taken into custody without incident under the Mental Health Services Act.
Charges are pending as police continue to investigate.
Traffic is now back to normal in the area.
