Saskatchewan Rush forward Adam Jones is heading to Toronto in a trade announced Tuesday afternoon.
In return, the Rush got a first round pick in the 2018 and 2019 National Lacrosse League drafts.
“This trade gives our team three first round draft picks in both the 2018 and 2019 NLL Draft,” Rush Head Coach and General Manager Derek Keenan said in a statement. “It appears NLL expansion is imminent. This makes the picks potentially even more important.”
In the 27-year-olds only season with the Rush, he compiled 26 goals and 31 assists for 57 points.
He added 13 goals and 6 assists for 19 points in 4 playoff games.
Before coming to Saskatchewan last season Jones played in Colorado for five years.
The move to the Toronto Rock is a bit of a homecoming, Jones is from Owen Sound, Ont.
