Fire destroys Martensville condo building

A vacant condominium under construction in Martensville was completely destroyed after a fire early Thursday.

Fire crews were called to the Lake Vista neighbourhood around 3 a.m.

Fire Chief Kurtis Dyck said when crews arrived the four unit complex was fully engulfed in flame and smoke and was spreading to a neighbouring building.

Fire crews managed to save all but one condominium unit in the second building.

Dyck said there is too much fire damage to determine a cause, but their initial investigation shows the fire may have been intentionally set.
