One of the province’s favourite swimming pools is getting a facelift for the first time since it was built in 1986.
On Wednesday Pike Lake Provincial Park announced $240,000 for upgrades to the waterslide and pool this fall.
“Provincial parks are an important part of Saskatchewan’s quality of life and are more popular than ever,” said Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Ken Cheveldayoff in a news release.
“Projects like these help to ensure that everyone who visits our parks have a great experience.”
The work is expected to address safety concerns and extend the life of the waterslide.
To accommodate the work the pool is set to close for the season in last August.
Finishing touches of the project are expected to be completed in the second phase of construction planned for 2018-19.
