Week 1 of the 2017 CFL season featured three games that were decided by three points or less, including one overtime tie.
The week ended with a future Hall of Famer, Ricky Ray, throwing for 506 yards. The previous career high for the 37-year-old pivot was 505 yards.
Darian Durant’s battle against his former team drew terrific television numbers. Fans in Calgary can’t wait to see the Stamps home opener against Ottawa after last weekend’s 31-31 draw.
The Lions and Eskimos combined for 24 fourth quarter points in a thrilling finish.
Were there issues in Week 1? The answer is yes: Video review needs some tweaking, it is not ideal to have fewer than 13,000 take in an Argos game at BMO Field and it’s a bad thing not to have CFL star JC Sherritt on the field for the remainder of the season.
However, the positives far and away trump the challenges entering Week 2 of this CFL season.
