Two men and a woman are on the run from RCMP after a brazen smash-and-grab theft at the Swift Current Mall.
Police said the suspects rammed a stolen pickup truck into the north doors of the mall early Monday morning, destroying the entryway.
They then continued through the mall, slamming the truck into the security gate of a store.
A mall employee confirmed to 650 CKOM the store was People’s Jewellers.
Swift Current RCMP said the men and woman loaded the pickup with an undisclosed amount of property from the store, then drove the truck out of the mall.
They were caught on the mall’s security cameras wearing dark clothing with hoods and masks.
The pickup was found in the city later in the day, but the suspects weren’t found.
Instagram posts from mall employees showed the damage to the front entryway, including twisted metal and shattered glass.
RCMP are asking anyone with information on the crime to contact their Swift Current detachment at 306-778-4870.
