The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people to check their pantries over concerns about contaminated granola.
Nature’s Path Foods Inc. has issued a recall for its Nature’s Path brand Coconut & Cashew Butter Crunchy Granola, noting the product could contain Listeria bacteria.
The recall applies to 720-gram packages sold at Costco stores in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia with a March 2, 2018 expiry date.
The CFIA is urging people who have bought affected packages to either throw them out, or return them to the store where they were purchased.
Listeria can cause fever, vomiting, nausea, headache and neck stiffness.
So far, there have been no reports of anyone getting sick due to the granola.
