I don’t mean to be too philosophical on this Friday, but I heard a saying not too long ago: “We have one planet and we have one life.”
I bring this up because, after suffering multiple concussions, Sidney Crosby was skating with the Pittsburgh Penguins again Thursday.
On Monday Crosby suffered another concussion which forced him out of the lineup for Game 4 of the Penguins/Capitals series.
The easiest thing in the world for someone like me, or any fan to do for that matter, is to second-guess Crosby’s decision to return to this sport.
Some former players and doctors are doing that right now. They shouldn’t be.
The reason Sidney Crosby has fame, fortune and two Stanley Cup rings is because he is unbelievably talented, but also has a competitive nature that not many others of us are born with. He also has access to the best medical personnel and advice on the continent.
Crosby will be the one who’s best-informed to make the right call about his future.
