A pay it forward baseball event in memory of a Saskatoon teen killed in a car accident was held Saturday at the SaskTel Soccer Centre.
Quinn Stevenson was killed in August of 2013 by a drunk driver, but it hasn’t stopped his family from keeping his memory alive.
Quinn’s former baseball team the Midget AA Blue Jay Jax taught the younger Mosquito kids how to throw, hit, and catch.
“The more of his buddies he could talk into playing baseball the better because it came more as a social outing playing the game he loved,” Quinn’s mother Bonny Stevenson said.
But his parents said they can’t take all the credit for keeping Quinn’s memory alive in Saskatoon.
“We got some great people in this community who have worked hard to make sure he’s never forgotten,” the Stevenson’s said.
Around 75 kids took part in the baseball combine and Quinn’s father Craig Stevenson still coaches the team to this day.
