RCMP searched Yorkton store after alleged threat

Yorkton RCMP investigated a threat that was made against a major retail outlet in east end of the city Friday afternoon.

RCMP confirmed the store was evacuated after the threat was reported around 1:35 p.m. 

Police asked people to stay clear of the area and to respect the safety barricades and directions given by police officers at the scene.

A search of the building was completed and the threat was found to be unfounded.

The RCMP thanked the public for their cooperation.

An investigation into the source of the threat continues.
