Saskatoon is bracing for more winter-like conditions after Environment Canada issued a blowing snow advisory for the region.
According to the weather agency, wind gusts are expected to reach 70 km/h through Monday night, with periods of light snow. It comes after 16 centimetres fell on Sunday in the Bridge City.
Environment Canada expects those conditions to continue through Tuesday, with winds at 70 km/h and gusts of 90 km/h. Two centimetres of snow is also expected.
According to the weather agency’s website, people in the area should be on the lookout for “adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions.”
The storm comes after hammering southern and eastern parts of Saskatchewan, leading to whiteout conditions in several communities. Travel wasn’t recommended along highways in the system’s path.
Conditions are expected to improve in Saskatoon overnight Tuesday, with clear skies and cooler temperatures forecast for the rest of the week.
