Regina police have charged a 15-year-old boy in connection with a shooting Sunday.
Officers were called to a home on the 2000 block of Wallace Street around 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 26.
Police said they later discovered a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following an investigation, officers identified a suspect, who was arrested Monday. Police also found the firearm at the residence where the alleged shooting took place.
Police described it as a homemade device, commonly called a “zipgun,” which is capable of firing a single round.
They added the firearm was discharged due to careless handling.
The 15 year old, who can’t be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces three gun-related charges.
The youth appeared in court this afternoon.
