Ivan Shewchuk was the first to find out the work lottery pool finally paid off.
“I thought it said it was a $1,000 prize, and I thought, ‘Right on!'” Shewchuk said in a news release Friday.
“But then I looked again and saw there were more zeroes.”
Enough zeroes to make it a cool $1 million.
On Jan. 6, 20 workers from Cory mine hit the big one from a Lotto Max ticket bought at the Shoppers Drug Mart in Saskatoon’s Westgate Plaza.
Shewchuk splits the prize with Robert Serhan, Ross Digness, Christopher Digness, Donald Briggs, Frank Hilkewich, Shayne Grieve, Dion Brick, Scott Bernard, Willy Tischler, Randy Krawchuk, Santiago Preza, Collin Kowalchuk, Kevin MacLaggan, Cory Baschuk, Lawrence Fehr, Robert Abele, Murray Falkowsky, Daryl Curren and Randy Rounce.
They each take home $50,000.
Thirteen of the winners are from Saskatoon, two each from Martensville and Grandora, while the others are from Langham and Delisle.
The winners told Sask. Lotteries they plan to use the money to pay bills, travel and do home renovations.
