When’s the last time you saw over 3000 people at a Track and Field meet?
That was the sight at the Field House at the University of Saskatchewan Saturday with tons of kids, parents and international athletes.
“It’s the biggest and best track meet in Canada,” said KC games organizer Bob Fawcett. “Tell me the last time in North America you heard about international athletes on the same track as elementary school athletes?”
The kids look forward to the event each and every year.
“It’s fun, it’s difficult and very competitive,” said one of the grade five kids from École St. Matthew School.
U of S track star Jared Olson competed as a kid and now as a senior athlete.
“It definitely lets track and field become a little bigger in Saskatoon,” he said.

They even had a media challenge in which our own JT Marshall threw shot put against Olympian Taryn Suttie and came dead last.
