The Green Zone’s Darrell Davis penned a terrific piece on the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ quarterback situation on Tuesday, titled “Waiting For Franklin.”
Davis correctly points out that quarterback James Franklin, rumored to be on Chris Jones’ wish list, has one more year on his contract in Edmonton.
So here is the question the nation’s best fans are asking: Will 37-year-old Kevin Glenn and some less-experienced quarterbacks guide this team until Franklin comes available, or is there an alternative plan for a starting quarterback in 2017?
If the plan is to go with Glenn and the less-experienced for the upcoming season, that doesn’t lessen expectations from the fan base.
Rider Priders will be quick to point out the Ottawa RedBlacks advanced to the Grey Cup game in their second season of existence in 2015. A second rebuilding season while Saskatchewan waits for a quarterback of choice is not an option.
