This would be such a great time to be an NFL fan in Los Angeles. And not for the reason you may think.
If you lived in LA you could say: ‘Screw you, NFL!’
Now that San Diego Chargers owner Dean Spanos has decided to move his team to Los Angeles, the entire state could unequivocally tell the team’s owner — indeed, they could tell the entire NFL — they aren’t going to buy tickets from a flim-flam artist. The Chargers have been in San Diego for 56 years. The community has supported the team, but another greedy NFL owner has moved his franchise elsewhere simply to make more money.
It’s happened before in the NFL: in Baltimore, Houston, Los Angeles, Oakland, Cleveland and St. Louis. National Hockey League teams have moved, too, but they moved because they were in unprofitable markets. That’s not the case in the NFL. They move to turn a $1 billion operation into a $3 billion business.
Every NFL team is owned by a carpet-bagger and they keep proving it over and over again.
