Expect to pay more for SGI services in 2017.
The Crown corporation announced an increase in prices “to better reflect the costs of delivering services”, according to a news release.
Administrative fees for services such as driver testing, driver licensing, appeals and vehicle inspections have not been changed in more than 10 years.
Some of the increases include:
- Class 1, 2 or 3 license – road test increasing from $40 to $100
- Class 4 or 5 license – road test increasing from $22 to $55
- Driver’s license fees, including a new photograph, cancelling the license and other lincense associated fees, rise from $10 to $15
- Ignition interlock program fee increasing from $30 to $105
Many of the changes will be implemented on Jan. 1, with a few fees being implemented at some point in 2017.
