The Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Unit (MCU) is investigating a report of a sudden death at the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre.
Police were called to the jail just before 6 p.m. Saturday after an inmate was found unresponsive in a holding cell.
MD Ambulance personnel attended but the 49-year-old man could not be revived.
