A police officer was sent to hospital after his police cruiser collided with a tree on Idylwyld Drive on Saturday morning.
The officer radioed in around 9:50 a.m. that he had struck a tree while heading south on Idylwyld just past the intersection with 36th Street.
The officer was removed from the car and taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Meanwhile pieces of the police cruiser’s bumper littered the sidewalk. Saskatoon Police taped off the street as they continue to investigate. There has been no information about the cause of the crash.
Idylwyld Drive southbound between 37th and 35th Streets was closed, but has since reopened. Police continue to investigate.
