No charges are being laid after an almost 10-hour standoff in Swift Current on Monday.
According to the RCMP’s Facebook page, they were called to a home in the South Railway area for a “distraught” man around 12:30 p.m.
Some buildings in the area were evacuated, and people were asked to stay clear, as police thought there might be guns in the home. The RCMP said their Emergency Response Team and Alberta RCMP were also deployed.
It wasn’t until about 10 p.m. that the man left the home and was arrested. He was taken to hospital and released by police. RCMP said no charges would be laid.
