A 28-year-old man faces charges for a string a robberies last Fall.
Three masked people, armed with a hammer, robbed a store in the 3700 block of Diefenbaker Drive at 2:55 a.m. on Oct. 24. They made off with an undisclosed amount of cigarettes.
Then three days later on Oct. 27, two masked people went into a store on the 3300 block of 33rd Street West with a gun and made off with cigarettes. The suspects fled in a minivan which police found and chased before it hit a fence on Cartier Crescent. Two suspects fled the car but one 20-year-old woman was caught inside and arrested.
A police investigation resulted in the arrest of the one man. He’s charged with multiple counts of robbery, using a mask during a crime and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
Police said the man was remanded into custody on other matters. He will appear in court for the robbery charges at later date.
