Norovirus has been identified as the illness affecting several dozen people at the University of Regina (U of R).
On Monday, the U of R confirmed that 44 people had become ill with a gastrointestinal illness. By Tuesday morning, the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region had confirmed the illness is Norovirus.
The university says now that it knows what the illness is, it will continue precautions put into place including increased cleaning, restricting certain food items, shutting down self-serve buffets, and keeping the fitness and wellness centre closed though Friday.
The school continues to ask people showing symptoms to stay home for at least 48 hours after symptoms have cleared.
