A young man is safe and traffic is back to normal on the Broadway Bridge following a situation Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the bridge just after 8 a.m. after reports a “distraught young man” threatened to jump from the bridge. Police Crisis Negotiators spoke with the man and he eventually agreed to seek help. MD Ambulance took the man to hospital where follow-up will be done.
Police blocked traffic in both directions during the incident. More than a dozen police cruisers, ambulances and fire trucks were on scene.
Traffic restrictions were removed around 10:45 a.m.
