John Chick and Weston Dressler may have new uniforms for 2016, but Canadian receiver Rob Bagg will continue to wear green and white.
The Roughriders and the veteran, Bagg, agreed to a three-year contract extension on Thursday.
Bagg is coming off back-to-back personal best seasons as he was a West Division All-Star in 2014 and followed that up with a career high seven touchdowns in 2015.
This will be Bagg’s ninth season with the Riders after making the team in 2008 as an un-drafted free agent.
Bagg was plagued with knee injures over the course of three seasons, but the Riders stayed loyal to the hard-working Queen’s product and it has paid off after three straight solid seasons.
“(Rob) was an important guy for us to retain within our receiving core and in our locker room,” says general manager and head coach Chris Jones in a statement from the team.
“Canadian starters and depth are always important in our league, but what is most important are players that bring a willingness to work and sacrifice to win. Bagg has been a leader in all that he does.”
Bagg was due to hit free agency on Feb. 9.
