More than $90,000 was stolen from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority by two employees over several years.
According to loss reports tabled in the Saskatchewan Legislature on Monday, the first theft happened in July 2012 and was discovered in August this year. An employee fraudulently obtained grant funding worth about $57,000.
The second incident of theft had been happening since February 2011 and was discovered in July this year. An employee was allegedyly handing in time cards for hours they hadn’t worked. The total amount got up to about $35,000.
Neither employee still works for the SLGA. One is referred to as a “former employee,” and the second was fired. The police were called and the SLGA is trying to get the money back.
