Police are combing the area around the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert after guards noticed they were one inmate short on the Monday’s evening count.
Staff discovered 23-year-old Hector Thomas Bird was missing during a head count in the prison’s minimum-security unit.
Bird is serving a three-year sentence for sexual assault, sexual interference and failing to comply with a probation order.
He is described as five-feet seven-inches tall and 117 pounds, with a medium complexion, brown eyes and black hair
