The school in Kelliher, Saskatchewan was forced to lock its doors Thursday after the village bank was robbed at gunpoint.
RCMP were called about the robbery at 9:14 a.m.
A man entered the bank with a gun and demanded cash before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction. Nobody was injured in the robbery.
As a precaution, Kelliher School was placed in “hold and secure” mode, which means the exterior doors were locked and monitored, but classes continued as normal inside.
The hold and secure was lifted at around 2 p.m., but the suspect remains at large.
He’s described as fair skinned, between 5’6 and 5’10 tall. He was wearing a green hoodie, baseball cap, plaid jacket, jeans, and a dark bandana.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Melville RCMP (306-728-1700) or Crimestoppers (1-800-222-8477).
