A 31-year-old man has died after a workplace accident at the sawmill south of Big River.
RCMP say emergency services responded to the work place injury at the sawmill on Tuesday night. The man was hurt while doing maintenance on equipment.
Police said he died from his injuries before emergency services got to the scene.
Sgt. Lyle Korczak with the RCMP said the man was from Shellbrook. He was married with children.
The mill is owned by Carrier Forest Products. President Bill Kordyban is currently en route to Big River. He said he does not know exactly what happened at this time.
The incident is being investigated by the Big River RCMP and Occupational Health and Safety.
The name of the man is not being released at this time.
