A woman died on Thursday morning while in custody at the White Birch Remand Centre for women in Regina.
Foul play is not suspected at this time.
Police are investigating the inmate’s death and the Ministry of Justice will also conduct an internal investigation. It will also be referred to the Provincial Corner’s office for review.
The ministry will provide an update to the media later this morning.
