Calgary had a small taste of winter in summer as a huge hail storm hit the city Tuesday evening.
Heavy rain and a strong wind accompanied the hail as the one-hour storm uprooted trees, brought down power lines, and flooded streets and underpasses.
Calgary emergency officials say the biggest problem was storm water catch basins that got plugged by hail and leaves.
About 35,000 people were without power at some point during the evening, while dozens of flights at the Calgary airport were cancelled or delayed.
There are no reports of injuries.
