A major fire has destroyed a business in downtown North Battleford.
The Bargain Shop on 101st Street near city hall is mostly rubble on Thursday morning.
The fire department was called around 4:30 a.m. and crews were forced to take a defensive attack because they could not get into the building.
Three hours later they were still trying to put out small flare-ups. They were able to keep the fire from spreading to Fabricland next door.
