Colten Boushie of the Red Pheasant First Nation was shot and killed after an SUV he was in drove onto the farm of Gerald Stanley, near Biggar, on Aug. 9, 2016.
Friends of the 22-year-old, who were in the SUV at the time, claim they were on the farm to get help with a flat tire. Police have suggested their vehicle was connected with theft complaints at a nearby farm.
The case quickly garnered national attention and exposed racial tensions in Saskatchewan.
650 CKOM will have complete coverage of Stanley’s second-degree murder trial from Jan. 29 to Feb. 15 in Battleford.
