The West Coast is calling for Saskatoon lacrosse star Jeremy Wudrick, who heard his name called in the second round of the 2026 National Lacrosse League Draft.
Wudrick will be off to join the Vancouver Warriors after being chosen with the 27th overall pick on Thursday night.
The former Saskatchewan Rush ball boy became the highest draft pick out of the province since goaltender Laine Hruska was selected 13th overall by the Georgia Swarm in 2020.

Playing for the Nanaimo Timbermen of the Western Lacrosse Association this past summer, the six-foot-four power forward finished fifth in team scoring with 13 goals and 28 points in 17 games.
Wudrick discovered the sport at five years old in Saskatoon and went on to play for the Saskatchewan SWAT junior lacrosse program before he left for Lander University after graduating high school.
A member of the Bearcats from 2023 to 2026, Wudrick scored 53 goals and 91 points in 58 career NCAA Division II games.

Speaking with 650 CKOM prior to draft day, Wudrick said he feels confident in his game being able to translate to the professional level.
“I feel pretty ready,” Wudrick said.
“This summer out west playing senior A and playing against the older guys definitely helped me get ready for this moment. I’m doing all I can to prepare for whatever is next to come.”
Wudrick was Vancouver’s second forward and third player taken on Thursday night, following third overall pick Matt Collison and goaltender Marcus Khan, who was selected 16th overall.

With their first pick of the draft, the Rush decided to bolster their back end by selecting left-handed defender Aaron Toguri at eighth overall.
Toguri finished his collegiate career at Jacksonville University as one of the program’s greatest defenders, ranking second all-time with 76 caused turnovers and third all-time with 108 ground balls, while also being named a two-time Atlantic Sun Conference all-star.
Playing in Major Series Lacrosse in his home province with the Cobourg Kodiaks, the Milton, Ont. product was named MSL rookie of the year this summer with eight points in 20 games.
At 20th overall in the second round, Saskatchewan chose goaltender Xavier Delormier from the Akwesasne Thunder of the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League with the pick they acquired last week from the Oshawa FireWolves in exchange for star defender Holden Garlent.
Delormier was dominant last season for the Thunder, as he recorded a perfect 20-0 record in regular season play with a 6.77 goals against average and an .862 save percentage to help win the Founders Cup as tournament MVP.
One pick ahead of Wudrick’s selection by Vancouver, the Rush went back to defence as they chose Alex Lemieux with the 26th overall pick.
Lemieux suited up in 12 games for Queens University of Charlotte in his senior season, while the Edmonton, Alta. product played at home for the Edmonton Miners.
In the third round with the 37th overall selection, Saskatchewan nabbed their first forward of the draft in University of Massachusetts sniper Brian Jackman, who netted six goals and seven points in 15 games last season in college.
Medicine Hat, Alta. defenceman Jayden Richards was selected 50th overall by the Rush in the fourth round on Thursday following a standout junior A career with the Calgary Mountaineers of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.
Saskatchewan closed out their draft in the fifth round at 59th overall by taking forward Calum Brennan, who finished second on the Robert Morris University Colonials with 30 goals in 18 games over his senior season.
The Rush will open the 2026-27 NLL season on Nov. 27 when they visit Oshawa.
